SERSA, SAIL emerge AIPMT joint champions

South Eastern Railway Sports Association (SERSA), Ranchi and Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Jharkhand were declared joint champions of the 22nd All-India Pradip Memorial Cricket Tournament after the final match between the two sided ended in a tie at Hanuman Jew ground in Tillo (Bhadrak) today.
Rakesh Tiwary hit a dashing 78 for SERSA to be adjudged the man of the match. S R Sinha (SERSA), Manjit Singh (SAIL) and A Pawan Kumar (SERSA) won the prizes as man of the tournament, best batsman and best bowler in the order.
Organised by Tillo Athletic Association (TAA), the well-known tournament, featuring eight teams from Odisha, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Jharkhand, started on January 4. The tournament, which was inaugurated by Union Tribal Welfare Minister Jual Oram. India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni played in this tournament in 2002 and 2003, representing SERSA, Khadagpur. The tournament will conclude on January 11.

January 4 (1st quarterfinal): DRK Club (Baripada)

January 8 (3rd Quarterfinal): SERSA , Ranchi 172/7 in 30 overs (SR Sinha 74, A Sikriwal 50; Njjsr Prasad 3/30) beat ECoRSA, Vizag 151/10 in 23.4 overs (K Satish 39, PR Anil 32; Kuldeep Sharma 4/23, A Sikriwal 2/14) by 21 runs. MoM: A Sikriwal.
